“Romulus” stands as a quiet yet unsettling witness to our present moment; a time suspended between possibility and erasure. Handcrafted in stoneware clay, the figure rises tall, its elongated neck seeming to hold stories of the past, present, and imagined futures. Yet this very neck is constricted, its voice silenced by surrounding noise, socio-political pressures, and technological advances that threaten the bloom, even the existence, of the human creative mind. This restraint poses a difficult question: are we tightening the noose around creativity ourselves, disguising it as progress?

Broad, expressive brushstrokes of deep blue and orange move across the pale body, acting as emotional residues of tension, melancholy, and introspection, while lighter hues emerge as fleeting sparks of creativity. The surface evokes the chaos of creation itself - messy, unpolished, and deeply human - standing in contrast to the smooth efficiencies of automation and AI.

Bound yet upright, subdued yet defiant, Romulus endures. It invites us to pause and reflect on a future where creativity survives only if allowed to breathe.
